Practice Medical Receptionist Location Cambridge, MA (The Port area) : Location: CHA Cambridge Hospital Work Days: M-F 9A-5:30P Category: Clerical and Administrative Support Department: Medical Specialties Clinic at CHA Cambridge Hospital Job Type: Full time Work Shift: Day Hours/Week: 40.00 Union: Yes Union Name: CH Laborers 380 DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is a community hospital that cares for a highly diverse population in the Boston metro-north region. As a member of our Medical Specialty team, you will help us care for patients in Cardiology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Geriatrics, Hematology/Oncology, Infectious Disease, Neurology, and Pulmonary Medicine. This includes consults and procedures at our two acute care hospitals and ambulatory care at our three medical specialty clinics. Administrative responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Handling all calls appropriately and courteously. Registering patients and scheduling appointments via Epic. Verifying insurance eligibility using PASSPORT. Maintain and support both paper and electronic medical records. Collecting, processing, and reconciling co-pays to be deposited. Provide financial support by processing charges, reconciling daily receipts as well as identifying and correcting errors in billing. Assist the direct patient care providers with electronic and paper correspondence; sorting and prioritizing incoming and outgoing mail for each provider. Participate on a planned care team. Attends departmental meetings. Other duties as assigned. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED is required. Minimum of one year experience working in an outpatient medical setting preferred. Bi-lingual skills such as Spanish, Portuguese or Haitian Creole preferred. Ability to work independently. Must possess excellent customer service skills and attention to detail.
