What You'll Be Doing:
As our Senior Medical Director, you will:
Provide clinical leadership to the interdisciplinary Medical Management team.
Oversee service coordination, utilization management, care/case management, and population health/disease management.
Ensure the delivery of appropriate healthcare by monitoring and overseeing Medical Directors and Physician Advisors.
Lead parity efforts and maintain parity documentation.
Analyze utilization, quality, and financial data to ensure high-quality, cost-effective care.
Review cases, make medical necessity determinations, and conduct peer-to-peer reviews.
Participate in case rounds and develop case management plans.
Evaluate the effectiveness and cost of care of clinical programs.
Interface with external stakeholders, including health plan partners and state agencies.
Provide medical leadership for Quality Improvement (QI) Programs.
Recruit, train, and supervise medical staff and physician advisors.
Develop and implement the Medical Action Plan (MAP) to address cost of care.
Implement medical policies and procedures.
Monitor quality and quantity of clinical reviews and care plans.
Provide after-hours coverage as required.
Participate in RFP response development and writing.
What We're Looking For:
We're seeking a compassionate and strategic leader who:
Holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree (or equivalent).
Has completed a residency program approved by the ACGME.
Has at least 7 years of post-residency experience with substantial direct patient care.
Has clinical experience pertinent to the patient populations being managed.
Holds an unrestricted, current, and valid medical license to practice in New Mexico.
Is board-certified or board-eligible.
Has experience with cost-benefit analysis, medical decision analysis, credentialing, and quality improvement.
Has excellent leadership and communication skills.
