Job Description
The family-owned manufacturing company is looking to hire a mid-level Data Analyst on a contract basis. Based in South Bend, Indiana the company uses advanced friction welding technologies to service a wide range of industries. Strong technical focus on data migration from SQL servers to PowerBI data visualization is key to succeed in this role.

Contract Duration: 8-10 Months
Required Skills & Experience - Experience with SQL Server: Strong understanding of SQL Server, including migration projects away from SQL Server to alternative systems or platforms.
- Power BI Architecture Implementation: Proven experience in designing and implementing Power BI architecture, including setting up and maintaining data models, dashboards, and reports.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders.
- Data Integration Skills: Ability to integrate data from various sources into Power BI, ensuring smooth data flow and accurate reporting.
Desired Skills & Experience - Data Integration and ETL: Background in data integration, including ETL processes. Experience in integrating various data sources (SQL Server, cloud platforms, APIs, flat files) into BI tools like Power BI for real-time, accurate reporting.
What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown
- SQL Server( 35%)- The role heavily focuses on SQL Server, especially around data migration, which is a key component of the position.
- Power BI (40%)- Power BI plays a central role in this job description, with responsibilities around setting up and maintaining Power BI architecture, data models, dashboards, and reports.
- Data Integration and ETL (15%)-Integrating various data sources into Power BI, including ETL processes and handling different data formats (SQL Server, cloud platforms, APIs, flat files)
Daily Responsibilities
- Hands-on, Technical Tasks (70%)- SQL Server, Power BI development, and ETL processes are the focus of the role, requiring a high degree of technical expertise and active, hands-on involvement with tools and data.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Interaction (30%)- The role is primarily technical, significant time will be spent communicating with internal stakeholders and working closely with team members to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
