The Opportunity
We're looking for a dedicated Director of Retirement Income to lead and support teams assisting members with annuities and other retirement income products. In this role, you'll direct multiple teams of Retirement Income Specialists, ensuring they provide the best solutions for members. You'll evaluate current workflows, implement process improvements, and work on initiatives to optimize member acquisition and relationship efforts. Compliance with policies and regulations will be key, as well as maintaining operational efficiency.
This position is based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Tampa, FL; Colorado Springs, CO; or Plano, TX. You will be required to work in the office four days a week. Relocation assistance is not available.
What You'll Do:
Lead and develop a team of managers, consultants, and process owners to enhance leadership skills and improve performance.
Analyze and recommend strategic initiatives, aligning them with team and organizational goals.
Streamline workflows and optimize resources to enhance efficiency within the Retirement Income areas.
Identify, develop, and execute continuous improvement plans, aiming for measurable improvements in productivity and process efficiency.
Define and monitor performance standards within Retirement Income.
Lead change initiatives and remove obstacles to ensure smooth operations.
Coordinate and implement key programs, projects, and initiatives.
Support regulatory and compliance efforts by providing research and documentation when needed.
Manage risks associated with business activities, ensuring they are identified, measured, and controlled in line with policies and procedures.
What You Have:
A bachelor's degree, or 12+ years of related experience if you don't have a degree.
Ability to obtain necessary licenses within 90 days of starting (such as Life/Health license and any required carrier appointments).
For Retirement Income roles, the ability to maintain FINRA Series 7, 66 (or 63 and 65), 24, and 51 (or 53), or complete this certification within 90 days.
8+ years of experience in financial services operations, including process improvement and business analysis.
4+ years of experience leading teams and providing coaching or leadership in a team environment.
Solid knowledge of financial products, particularly life insurance and retirement income products.
What Sets You Apart:
Military experience, either through service or as a spouse/domestic partner.
Active FINRA Series 7, 66 (or 63 and 65), 24, and 51 (or 53) certifications.
Life and Health (Group 1) license.
MBA or advanced degree in a financial or business-related field.
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERâ„¢ (CFP®) designation.
10+ years of experience in Retirement Planning or Annuities.
5+ years of experience leading a team of investment advisors in a Direct Distribution Channel.
3+ years of leadership experience managing other managers (leader of leaders).
RICP (Retirement Income Certified Professional) Designation.
Experience managing investment advisors in a call center environment.

We offer competitive compensation based on market data and your experience. The salary range for this position is $114,080 - $218,030, depending on location and qualifications. Pay incentives may also be available based on overall performance.
