Job Title: Director of Digital Marketing
Location: Manhattan University
Reports To: Executive Director of Marketing
Department: Marketing

Job Summary:

The Director of Digital Marketing is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that supports the organization?s goals and objectives. This leadership role involves overseeing all aspects of digital marketing, including website management, social media strategy, content development, campaign analytics, vendor management, and team oversight. The Director will ensure that all digital initiatives enhance the brand, drive engagement, and achieve measurable results.

Working Conditions:
  • Occasional travel for meetings, events, or conferences.
  • Availability for evening or weekend work as needed for special projects or deadlines.
  • This is an in person, on campus position.
Salary and Benefits:
  • $100, 000 - $110,000 Per Year.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking digital marketing strategy aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Set KPIs and performance benchmarks for all digital campaigns and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align digital initiatives with broader marketing and organizational strategies.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends to identify and implement innovative digital marketing tactics.

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary digital marketing team, including the Assistant Director of Digital Marketing, Digital Media Producer, and part-time specialists.
  • Foster a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
  • Allocate team resources effectively to meet project deadlines and organizational priorities.

Digital Presence and Content Management:

  • Oversee the management and enhancement of the university website, ensuring a user-friendly experience and adherence to best practices in design and SEO.
  • Guide the content strategy for digital platforms, ensuring engaging and brand-consistent content.
  • Oversee social media strategy and execution, ensuring consistent brand voice, timely posting, and robust audience engagement.

Campaign Analytics and Performance:

  • Design, implement and oversee digital campaigns across email, social media, and web platforms, ensuring measurable outcomes and ROI.
  • Monitor analytics and generate reports to assess campaign effectiveness and guide decision-making.
  • Present data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Vendor and Budget Management:

  • Manage relationships with external vendors, including creative agencies, web developers, and media partners.
  • Negotiate contracts, oversee deliverables, and ensure vendors meet project timelines and quality expectations.
  • Develop and manage the digital marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

Special Projects:

  • Lead high-priority projects such as website redesigns, CRM integration, or significant campaign launches.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of complex projects.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor?s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (Master?s degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in digital marketing, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful digital strategies.
  • Experience managing teams and working cross-functionally with other departments.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing tools and platforms, including CMS (Drupal and Cascade), analytics software (Google Analytics), social media tools (e.g., Sprout Social), and email marketing platforms.
  • Expertise in SEO/SEM, content marketing, and campaign performance analysis.
  • Exceptional leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Adept at problem-solving and decision-making in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with video production, photography, and digital asset management.
  • Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
  • Experience managing web design and development projects.
  • Certification in digital marketing, Google Analytics, or related fields is a plus.
